A part of our project team had the opportunity to attend the annual meeting of SESAM 2025 in Valencia this year.
Almost 1.400 experts from 65 countries attended the annual meeting of the SESAM Society for Simulation in Europe to discuss key issues in medical simulation.
This year, the focus was on exchange and information about current developments, patient safety, medical simulation in education, training and continuing education, the use of new technologies and the further development of proven practices.
We led the workshop ‘How to create innovative MR learning applications on the example of PROGRESSION’ at the conference.
We expereinced that there is currently intensive research in the field of medical simulation and innovative teaching methods – such as the use of VR glasses.
We are happy to share our wealth of experience from the PROGRESSION Project with all interested colleagues. The workshop not only offered insights into conceptual and technical implementation processes, but also addressed key challenges in application, international cooperation and the evaluation of digital learning tools.
🔍 Key findings from the workshop:
👓 Innovative learning concepts can be implemented even without industrial support.
👓 Virtual reality can be a very helpful learning tool.
👓 The application is fun and practical.
Workshop participants were able to test the presented application with VR glasses in medical simulation on site. They were particularly impressed by its user-friendliness. Within the framework of SESAM, industry representatives also showed concrete interest in the technology and its use in teaching.
